Everything you need before your first visit
No surprises, no guesswork. Here's what to bring, what the visit looks like, and how to reach us if anything changes.
What to bring
- Photo ID
- Your dental insurance card (and medical card, if you have one)
- A list of medications you take, including dosages
- Names of any conditions you're treated for
- Any recent dental X-rays, if you have them
- Questions — write them down so nothing gets forgotten
Paperwork is handled at the front desk when you arrive — plan for a few extra minutes on your first visit. If it's easier to fill things out with help, just say so.
How an appointment usually goes
Check in & history
We review your paperwork, medications, and anything that's been bothering you.
Exam & images
A look at your teeth, gums, and bite, plus any X-rays needed to see below the surface.
Findings & plan
We explain what we found, what's urgent, what can wait, and what it costs.
Cleaning or scheduling
Many patients are cleaned the same visit; larger treatment gets its own appointment.
Bringing a child for the first time
- Book earlier in the day when kids are freshest.
- Keep your language neutral at home — skip words like "shot" or "hurt."
- Let them bring a comfort item; it helps more than you'd think.
- Plan to sit close by. Parents are welcome in the room.
